Goodbye IMU!

It's a bit hard to believe that, i've actually spent about 2 years in IMU...
Life there is actually coming to an end, very soon, as there will be no more lectures going on, only Finals, some case presentations and bits of preparation for UK thing...

Well, the most unforgettable thing will surely be the orientation week...
Talk about dressing as a GIRL for 3 or 4 days in different costume, that certainly requires some courage....

Me & Giri as TARZAN & JANE (Well, obviously, I am Jane). Had a funny MTV show though :)

Not mentioning, dressing as such to meet my tutor, Prof. Peter (aka The Tiger of Pharmacy)

Can u c me? Yup, the 1 at right is me, a GT BABE.

It's quite tiring n sometimes frustrating going through the 5 days orien-'bullied'-tation, nevertheless it is fun.

However, that's all about the highlights during my 2 yrs in IMU.

Yup, there's alot of happening things around IMU, alot of partying and clubbing among my classmates, but none had much to do with me.

Not to say that i participate in ntg at all, it's juz tht im not too into everything. Some i juz don bother to join, too lazy to join, too shy to join hahaha....

That is not suppose to be a uni student's life rite? It should be more colourful isn't it? Well, it depends on how u interpret 'colourful' too... I hv a tiny bit of regret for not being more active during my uni life here, it may spice up my life more, eventhough i'm content with life right now.

Anyway, i'm happy to have met ppl who make my life in uni better :) Raj, Giri, Chel, Samm, Theng Theng and many more... Those who helped me through my life here, those who are simply nice ppl, thanks alot! (Special thanks to Zelia: There's once in the lab, i spilled my chemical all around the bench, n she was very nice to stay n help me clean the mess after the lab session ended, that's really nice of u, girl.)

The ever charming RAJ, with Ray at the side, tucking in his shirt.

GIRI n XY, interesting couple keke...

Me n Theng Theng, the blur girl from penang :p

This is called 左拥右抱which means 'hugging left n right'. U can c how happy i am (hahaha...) with Samm & Chel in my arms... Cheh, but all taken d, including me.

Although i am going to meet this same bunch of people in UK, but it will somehow b abit diff d.... There will probably b some change anyway, u will never know. So, experience at IMU is still something unique.

It's abit embarrassing to say, i've never been to the pasar malam at sri petaling n only once to the town after staying so near to sri petaling for 2 yrs. Well, Carrefour is the furthest place i go most frequently to restock.

View of Endah Parade (Carrefour) taken from my room.

And the food i ate most are the canteen food (previous caterer), n mixed rice, fried rice, burger nasi lemak from the stalls at the roadside, juz outside the uni.

The fried rice stall. Well food are not that nice, not really hygienic as well.
.
Nasi lemak n burger stall. Have wide variety of food but most sucks.
.
Ah, i did not manage to take a photo of the Indian mixed rice stall. The auntie was nice, sometimes will give me extra things, but honestly, the food isn't that nice and i think they should change their menu sometimes. YES! THESE ARE THE THINGS I EAT EVERYDAY FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS! Ohhh... feel like vomiting sometimes, need an anti-emetic...

Say goodbye to IMU.... (although i'll b bck in 3 weeks time)
Say goodbye to my untidy but comfortable room

Before packing

After packing (wah so tidy d!)

Another before-after comparision

N say goodbye to all the memories left at that place.... N the precious time spent there wif my girl...

Bus ride update

Well, this is an update regarding the bad bus ride thingy... I received an e-mail from rapidkl this monday. It does sound sincere, but i think it sounds very 'official', like those typical statements from TNB or JBA tht says 'we apologize for the electricity/water supply interuption tht happen in your area. The electricity/water supply will be back to normal in 2 hrs time', then u wait for 12 hrs there is still no electricity/water supply. I doubt any serious action will be taken. This is Malaysia what...

Here's the letter i've received:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your e-mail which we read with genuine concern. We understand that efficient service is essential in today’s fast-paced world, especially for our valued customer like you. We regretted the unpleasant experience you encountered while using our bus service.

Pertaining to your feedback on the above matter, we will speak to both the drivers and the Enforcement Officer on duty. We truly agreed with your comments that the staff on duty should handle the situation professionally. As customer safety is our top priority and we do not tolerate this manner of behaviour by any staff on duty .

We are required by procedure, to carry out a proper investigation and the driver concerned will be questioned. Should the staff be found guilty, necessary action will be taken according to the policy of the Company and Employment Act. We would also like to take this opportunity to inform that every complaint about the inappropriate behaviour is taken seriously. With the appropriate details given, we can identify the staff concern and immediate action is taken to investigate the allegation on the staff.

In this way, it will helps to avoid dispute when the ticket is inspected by our Enforcement Officer.

We wish to re-assure that we will continually strive to improve the quality of service that the customer expects from us. We sincerely thank you for the feedback and we hope you will continue to patronize our services.

OK, something unrelated to the story above.

A bad bus ride

I had an unpleasant ride on RapidKL bus today... Makes my fuming till now.. The incident happened because this bloody driver gave me concession tickets instead of normal adult tickets when i took my ride from KTM serdang to Sg.Long.

Concession tickets are meant for schoold kids in uniform, diabled or senior citizens. The fare is RM1 instead of normal RM2. I gave RM2, he gave me RM1 ticket, which i did not ask for. As usual, i keep my ticket in my pocket after receiving it, without having a thought that the ticket might be faulty. I did not encounter any problem with tickets previously and i did not EXPECT it to have any problem either today. I was not aware that there is something like 'concession ticket' too.

Problem started when i was on my way back from Sg. Long to KL. There was some inspectors checking tickets in the midway, and they told me i have an invalid ticket and i must pay another RM2. WHAT THE FUCK!! I'm not making a fuss because of this RM2, but i felt that i was treated with injustice... Y do i have to PAY for this BLOODY mistake that the bus driver did??
They will not accept my argument, and insist i MUST pay that bloody RM2. Bloody hell...

3 against 1, what can i do? Be a man and jump down from the bus halfway and walk alone to the LRT station in the middle of the night? Or be a rock and refuse to move my butt from the chair, insisting i have done ntg wrong n let the whole bus of ppl to wait because of me?

That is so shit... I felt 'teraniaya' and 'terhina', although it doesn't seem so bad from the surface of this thing... Still, there's a feeling of disatisfaction on the way they handle such issues, neglecting the rights and feelings of their passengers. SHHHHSH! GERAMNYA!

Oh well, here's a complain letter i wrote to RapidKL regarding my disatisfaction with the way they handle things:

Dear Staff of RapidKL,

I would like to complain about a case of injustice handling by RapidKL staff of the bus line U41. It all started when me and my friend was taking rapidkl bus from the Serdang KTM station. We paid RM4.00 for 2 normal tickets and we got the tickets and everything seem ok. But what we did not realise is that, the bus driver gave us two concession tickets instead of the normal 'adult' tickets. We did not notice the error for a few reasons:

1. The bus was quite packed that time and we have to stand when the bus starts moving, so we did not have the chance to read all details on the tickets before stuffing them into our pockets.
2. We are not aware of the existance of concession tickets and such error has never occur in our experience with rapidkl buses.
3. We are not wearing school uniforms, nor we are senior citizens or disabled.

We reached Sg. Long without any problem. The problem starts when i was on my way from Sg. Long to KL. I enter the bus with the ticket i bought earlier without problem, the error of the ticket was noticed only when there were inspection of tickets by your staffs in the middle of the way. The staff, a Punjabi man pointed to me that the ticket i was holding was a concession ticket, and asked me to buy a new ticket. I argued that i paid RM2.00 but got RM1.00 concession ticket is not my fault and how could you ask me to pay for something that is not due to my fault? I did not even knew the existance of a concession ticket. However, due to the pressure of the inspectors and the bus driver, who says "Bayar saja lar" i was forced to pay for something i do not deserve to pay for.

RM2.00 is not a big amount, and i'm not making a fuss because i lost RM2 unreasonably today. I am upset because of the way your staffs are handling things and i felt that i am helpless against the pressure of 3 staffs against me alone, and i felt that my right as a consumer, a customer of RapidKL is not guarenteed. Why do i have to pay for a mistake that the previous bus driver make? Am i guilty just because i did not realise the mistake made by the bus driver? I mean i do not know there are such 'concession tickets' and i do not look like someone who is asking for a 'concession ticket'.

I still keep the ticket as a prove and i hope appropriate actions will be taken to secure the confidence and needs of RapidKL users. I hope your staffs will be more CONSIDERATE of the passengers' feeling and judge REASONABLY. I hope to get a reasonable explanation on this issue. Thank you.

Time of ticket issued: 7.25 pm
Bus' plate number: WPR 371
Bus Driver ID: 006601
Ticket ID: 9E4872E0

*p/s: I am well aware that there's 99% that my mail will go into the drain, or i'll get reply like "We are sorry with the difficulties that you experience with our services, we will look into this matter and improve. We hope you'll continue to support us. Thank you". This indeed is not a really serious matter. I juz can't take it down my throat and i juz want to let them know, they SUCK!
