Just the way you are

You know what song always poped in my mind when i think of you dear?

Just the way you are by Bruno Mars.

Although it's not a special song for us or the favourite song of yours or mine, but the lyrics are exactly the things i would tell you. Yes exactly! I'm perfectly happy with who you are n there is no need to change anything.

Tomorrow would be our 4th anniversary and I would like to wish you, Happy Anniversary and Happy Chap Goh Mei hehe....

Juz wanna say, i'm glad that v r still together n i hope this relationship will last as long as possible... Love you dear, love the way you are :)

Oh her eyes her eyes
Make the stars look like they're not shining
Her hair her hair
Falls perfectly without her trying

She's so beautiful
And I tell her every day

Yeah I know I know
When I compliment her
She won't believe me
And it's so, it's so
Sad to think that she don't see what I see

But every time she asks me "Do I look okay?"
I'll say

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile
The whole world stops and stares for a while
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

Yeah her lips her lips
I could kiss them all day if she'd let me
Her laugh her laugh
She hates but I think it's so sexy
She's so beautiful
And I tell her everyday

Oh you know you know you know
I never ask you to change
If perfect's what you're searching for
Then just stay the same

So, don't even bother asking
If you look okay
You know I'll say

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile
The whole world stops and stares for a while
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

The way you are
The way you are
Girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile
The whole world stops and stares for a while
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

Just the way you are by Bruno Mars.

Appreciation

When u r working in a field where u c ppl in their most vulnerable or misfortune side, u learn to appreciate more...

Although i'm not a doctor, i still c many saddening things in the hospital..... Those who are poor, uncared, chronically ill, mentally disordered, born with defects n so on....

Once i saw a father with his mentally retarded son... I wondered, how would i cope with such great obstacle to raise a child who might not b able to speak a proper sentence or change his own shirt? Every parents would hope that their child will someday bcome some1 successful n respectable, living healthily n have a happy family. But what future can 1 expect from an angel with a broken wing? I'm not discriminating or trying to be disrespectful to the unfortunate ones, it's juz tht when i imagine myself at the father's place, i knew from the very beginning that my life is never goin to be the same as b4... My child will not b a doctor or lawyer 1 day, i don even know if he could ever work... I dono if i could bear the burden to take care of him till the day 1 die, n when i died, who is going to take care of him? I possibly need to take alot of extra time n effort to teach him to do a simple thing, n i hv to clean up the mess that he caused everyday if he is one naughty child... Take him to c doctors every now n then, get stared everywhere i go bcoz i hv a special child....

The parents of these special children r really really ppl we should respect... i'm sure they would have had some of the problems tht i mentioned above while taking care of the special ones, but the unconditional love from parents can sometimes b greater than anything in the world... The selflessness n sacrifice they made is unimaginable sometimes.

I know my parents love me very much, n i'm thankful tht they brought me to this world healthily, gave me the best tht they could give, taught me well to be a useful man, n moulded me into who i am today. Although i am not perfect, but i'm not ashamed to say that i'm a useful person to the society n i'm now working to serve the people.

Euro Trip with my dear (Day 8)

DAY 8

We arrived late at the hostel (Astor Victoria again) n we had to 'sneak in' to our dorm quietly n brush up quickly to get some good rest....

We started our day early.. after a quick breakfast, we took some photos as we walked to the tube station.

This is Sin May with the London black cabs... She finds them really classic..

We did not have much time, so our trip today would be time limited...

Our first stop was the famous Tower Bridge (often mistaken as the London Bridge) although technically it is situated in London so it is one of the London's bridge hehe.... N along tht part of the River Thames, the Tower of London is just nearby... The Tower of London was a fortress n more infamously as a prison for high profile prisoners like opposing politicians, rebel leaders, royalties etc... Executions were also carried out here...

Visiting the Tower of London was not in my initial plan, but Sin May said she had not visited a REAL CASTLE in Europe so far, so, y not? I have not been to the tower myself....

So queued for quite some time to get the tickets n off we go!

We watched some demonstration on the use of crossbow n heard story bout how they executed William Wallace aka Braveheart. Kinda long winding, n the heat was grilling hot, so we continued with our journey into the Tower.

This is Sin May in yet another wall posting photo in Europe hehe...

This water gate, is called the Traitor's Gate... Woooo...

This is even better. The BLOODY TOWER. wooo.... creepy huh? Stories were told that 2 Princes that were kept prisoners in this tower were murdered by their uncle in this tower as they disappeard suddenly and mysteriously but their bodies were never found.

They have free guided tour, but they were too long winding honestly n it's not easy to catch their British jokes lol... So we juz walked around on our own.

Some of the buildings in this fortress were still the properties of Her Majesty the Queen, so there is a royal guard guarding the place 24/7.

Some graffiti left by the prisoners of the Tower in Beauchamp Tower. Nice pieces of art, n u noe wat ppl would do when they are bored....

We then continued with the exhibition 'Fit for a King', a display of armours and a collection of some royal treasures...

Henry VIII's armour... Catered for his big belly :)

One pound (currency) used to be the weight of one pound of metal (silver i guess)!

Sin May with a mini teddy...

Sin May with a giant teddy.. We were annoyed by a few kids who posted very long with the teddy to get a 'perfect' shot... Sissies....

Yes another wall shot featuring Sin May :)

We had a nice n cheap fish n chips take away as lunch near the Tower of London...

The British Museum was our next destination (n sadly, our last in Europe)...

Sin May looked stunningly similar to the statues....

Hehe, I like this one....Sin May with another dumb dumb... (previous 1 in the Louvre, Paris)..

After a short stay in the British Museum, we went to hunt for some souvenirs nearby.... After buying souvenirs, we took the tube and headed to Heathrow Airport....

It was hard to say goodbye again, although i knew i would c her again in a month or two.... I held my tears as she proceed to the departure gate.... This is the last picture we took b4 saying goodbye....

It was a good trip, too short though... Wish we had longer time to go around, more places, more details.... But hey, we r still together, n we will have chance to go for a European vacation again, sometime soon.... That time would b longer n more relaxing....

Euro Trip with my dear (Day 7)

DAY 7

We only had a few hours to sleep before catching our train at 4.00am to Rome. We had to leave this lovely city and the comfortable hostel :( they even asked if we needed anything as breakfast before we left.

There were few ppl waiting for the train... Tired... Good thing that the train arrived in time. But hell, the train's corridor was filled with baggage and even ppl sleeping! As that was a sleeper train, the train was divided into numerous cabins... We entered into one of the cabins, n there were a few ppl in it already.. There were 8 seats (or 6 seats? could not remember) 4 facing 4 (or 3 facing 3) seats. The seats can be lowered so that 2 opposing seats can b made into a bed... There was a lady who i thought was pretending to not notice tht ppl r coming in n she continued to sleep, refusing to give up the seat for other ppl... After quite a while, as ppl tried to get her up, then only she reluctantly get up to make space for others...

It was an uncomfortble trip, can't really sleep, especially for a light sleeper like Sin May.....
We finally arrived in the city of Rome after 5 hours of train....

We decided to have breakfast first before continuing with our journey.. We wandered around the train station n found this Italian-Middle Eastern snack shop... The food looked tasty, but the taste is not as good as it seems.. Not cheap as well...

After breakfast, i bought a map n bought 2 daily travel tickets for both of us.... I heard from my friends that Rome's subway is quite convenient... But hell, subways were closed bcoz of a strike. Nvm, we'll take bus. Then we waited at a bus stop under the bloody hot sun for a while, with us some backpackers n an Italian lady... Way too long for a bus to come, n we did not c buses going around... The Italian lady called the bus company n told us that the bus drivers are on strike. Public transport down... No good! Damn it, y strike now? Y even buses? Frustrating...

Then i remembered seeing hop-on-hop-off bus tour companies pulling business along the street. Well, tht is our only solution for transportation, n it was quite convenient as they will bring us to most of the tourists hot spots... So we bought the tickets, n waited for our turn to board... Another half an hour wait under the sun... Bought ice cream n cold water to cool the temperature...

Sin May wanted to sit on the open roof top for better view... But soon we regretted... My cacat 1 pound umbrella was mercilessly crushed by strong wind in Scotland n it couldn't stop the heat of the sun to hit us hard.... sighs, look how dark i got back then...

Rome is a very old city, blending ancient buildings with modern architecture harmoniously, at least it does not look as fake as Malacca.... Shame on Malacca..

OK, so the hop-on-hop-off bus travels around the city and stops by the main attractions in the city. There were around 10 stations. We could not afford to stop at each station, so we selectively go down at places we would like to visit.

The 1st stop, the Colosseum. It is amazing to see the famous Colesseum right in front of my own eyes, a magnificent building survived after centuries of war & disasters...

2 Gladiators eyeing to woo some naive/innocent tourists

Arco di Constantino - built to commemorate the triumph of Constantine I

Some very old looking ruins...

The territory of the once Great Roman Empire...

Our 2nd stop was a random 1... we did not know what to expect also, we juz reached a church, saw many ppl queueing to enter, so we stopped by. I remember seeing this stone face somewhere, i think it's some fortune telling machine.. I did not know what is the history of this until i googled today... The Mouth of Truth or La Bocca della Verità in Italian, legend says it was used as a lie detector, ppl who told a lie while placing his/her in the mouth of the sculpture will hv his/her hand bitten off.... No wonder ppl r queuing up to put their hand into the mouth of the sculpture...

Inside the church...

The outside view of the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin

A fountain and a shrine like building...

3rd stop. In a random alley, lost while finding the Pantheon.... Finally found our way after asking 2 handsome mat salleh brothers...

Sighs, everything was under renovation in Europe during the summer... We only got to c half of the Pantheon. I am still amazed at how Romans managed to blend the ancient buildings in the modern city so well... It does not feel weird to suddenly bump into a millenium-old building in the modern streets of the city...

After we found the Pantheon, we tried to find our way bck to the bus stop to wait for the bus to the next stop.. But we could not find our way bck to the last stop, instead, I led Sin May to the previous stop - The Piazza de Venezia (Venice Square)... zzz.. At the round-about near Piazza de Venezia , the obvious symbol of the winged lion of Venice..

Took some pics, n we waited for the bus under the steaming hot sun... Felt terrible....
Next stop, Piazza San Pietro (St Peter's Square)... Hoped that we would have chance to go into Vatican someday, not on tht day though....

After a brief stop there, we moved on but we did not get down from the bus anymore... Kinda exhausted coz of the hot weather... We shall go to Rome again someday in the future when it's not too hot.....

We returned to the starting point, near the train station... We walked in n out of the train station, trying to decide what to eat... Finally we had McD as lunch, n I went to get a refund for our unused day-travel-pass (due to the strike by public transportation workers) n tried to find the bus stop for our bus to the airport...

We arrived early in the airport, (luckily, coz i had a stomach ache n desperately need to get to a toilet)... Finally, back to the city tht Sin May like most (for now) - London....

(to be continued...)
